RECEIVE CARE

Hillcrest’s Care Ministries exist to provide support and encouragement to our church family and community. It is our mission to assure each and every person we encounter that they are remembered, prayed for, and loved.

PASTORAL CARE

Hospital and Visitation:

If anyone from Hillcrest UMC  family is hospitalized, we want to encourage them with prayer and visitation during their stay. To ensure the Pastoral & Congregational Care Team is aware of a hospitalization, please call the church office using this number.

For individuals who are in long-term care or are homebound, we strive to offer ongoing encouragement through regular calls, visitation, prayer, and communion. Members of our Pastoral Staff and/or visitation teams share vital love and compassion with these individuals so they are assured of the care and support of their church family.

SUPPORT CARE

Sunny Day

The mission of Sunny Day Club® is to provide our senior members social interaction, friendship, and stimulation in a caring environment, as well as provide respite for caregivers.

Lots of Love and Fun!

Each Wednesday, the Fellowship Hall of Hillcrest United Methodist Church resounds with laughter from the Sunny Day Club® members and volunteers. The joy is contagious as those in the early stages of memory loss meet for games, exercise, singing, eating, lots of fun and of course, laughing!

RELATIONAL CARE

Visitation Teams — These teams care for the homebound and those who cannot regularly attend services. They visit homes and long term care facilities to provide worship opportunities, prayer and communion for people who are unable to travel to Hillcrest UMC.

Bereavement Team

The purpose of this team is to provide a meal for the family and friends of a Hillcrest UMC member who has recently died. Often this meal is served following a funeral service or taken to the funeral home during the visitation. This team is staffed with lay members and volunteers who serve grieving families in practical ways. The Bereavement Team also extends after care for the loved ones through notes and continued prayer.

Hillcrest Babies

This team assists in practical ways after the arrival of a new member in the family. This includes both birth of a newborn or the arrival of an adoptive child. Staffed and coordinated by volunteers, Hillcrest Babies will deliver meals to the family.

Hillcrest Hello Team

This team includes individuals who are committed to sending encouragement cards to members of our church. These may be recovery, birthday, celebration or thinking of you cards.
